To clarify - when I talk about the god of Christianity, or the bible god - Im not talking about the mind behind the Big Bang, or the actual historical Jesus, or the creator, or love. Im talking about a god that doesnt exist. In that sense Im atheist. I cant honestly say I know that there is a loving god. Or even that Jesus existed. But I do think if I could delete all the religious crap Ive had shoved down my throat from a very young age, I could let all this stuff go and believe God loves me. Unfortunately, Ive gotten to a point where just about anything to do with Christianity (including myself, and except maybe Jesus himself, not that I think he had much to do with it) makes me wanna puke, and the things most Christians say dont help me believe God is love at all. They say we cannot understand how God works, how such infinite love can torture someone it created for eternity but we just have to accept it. Ill tell you why it doesnt make sense. Because its bullshit. That isnt love. But they bury their heads in the bible trying to figure it out. And thats why they and everyone else is confused. The more you study the more questions you have, because you keep finding the contradictions, and try to make excuses for God.
