To our new friends from Ames and crystal owners who have asked how to cleanse their crystals, one way is a simple salt water bath. If you have acquired your crystal from us, they will need a minimal amount of cleansing. They are fresh from Mother Earth with little handling and no intentions set to them. Get a non-metallic bowl large enough to hold your crystal(s). Fill the bowl with water to cover the crystals by about 1 inch. Room temperature tap water is fine, spring water which is "alive" with nutrients that crystals like, is better. For each crystal, add 1 tablespoon of salt as a rough guideline. The "perfect" cleansing solution is a 30% solution of sea salt and spring water. If you have genuine sea water, use that. Personally, we use store bought sea salt and captured rain water or spring water we haul back from Hot Springs. Let your crystals soak overnight. If they are in a metal setting (wire wrapped) just dunk them, the salt will discolor the metal if they soak. (See smudging method, next post) After draining, rinse with a fresh source of water to remove the salt and negative energy residue. Pat dry.
