To the 3 distracted drivers at Valley Station Rd & Eve Adam Drive at 8:30 this morning that sped up when they saw the school bus stop sign and flashing lights to try and beat it like it was a yellow light, shame on you. To the 2 distracted drivers that then decided to slam on their brakes at the last minute, sending one of them into a slide on the wet pavement in the direction of my children coming to a stop in the grass only 3 foot from where they stood hugging each other as they were scared by the screeching tires, shame on you. To those 2 drivers that then sped off, not concerned at all with the 2 crying children on the side of the road and their mother running to them, shame on you. Whatever had you distracted was not worth my childrens lives. Its not worth risking anyones life so please pay attention and may I never see you again. And finally, Thank You to the teacher at Layne Elementary who saw this and took the time to stop and talk with me and the kids to make sure we were ok.
