To those who are living and working near the Etiwanda fire, we urge you to watch for changes in the level of smoke in your area. Excessive smoke may lead to symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, or chest pain. If you or your loved one is experiencing these or similar symptoms, please seek medical attention. Here are some tips on how to protect your health: • Limit strenuous exercise. • Stay indoors if possible. • Keep indoor air as clean as possible by keeping your windows and doors closed. • Run your air conditioner, but recirculate the air by closing your exterior air intake and keep your air-filter clean. • If you do not have an air conditioner, seek shelter from the heat in cool places such as a mall or community center. Please visit bt.cdc.gov/disasters/wildfires/ for more information on how to protect you and your family during a wildfire.
