Today, 1,400 years ago on the 17th of Ramadaan, Muslims were blessed with a pivotal victory in spite of overwhelming odds stacked against them. The idol worshippers of Makkah were humiliated and defeated in the Battle of Badr. Since then Allah has repeatedly granted Muslims key victories in this Holy Month of Ramaḍān; among them history records the conquests of Makkah, Jerusalem, Sindh, Andalusia and Constantinople. Let us beg Allah to make His believing slaves victorious over their enemies in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and elsewhere in this month of victory! As He alone is the granter of true victory.
