Today I got my lab results from my last doctor appointment. The main thing I was interested in seeing was the cholesterol numbers, as mine have been *very* much messed up for the last few years. I didnt know if a #Paleo diet would have that much effect after only two months, but it was worth finding out if this would be worth it all. Im quite surprised (in a very good way). Im not prepared to say this is 100% proof, as the numbers seem a bit *too* good for such a short period. The last test was on 12/30/2013 and the most recent was on 6/27/2014: Total cholesterol - normal range is 108 to 199 - before: 265.9 - after: 186.7 Triglycerides - normal range: 26 to 149 - before: 193.6 - after: 104.5 HDL (good) cholesterol - normal: 40 to 125 - before: 37.7 - after: 31.6 LDL (bad) cholesterol - normal: < 129 - before: 189.5 - after: 134.2 Cholesterol/HDL ratio - normal: 0 - 5 - before: 7.1 - after: 5.9 Ill be very interested to see how the numbers align in another six months. My ratios are still bad, but this is the first time Ive actually had *any* numbers approach a normal range, so I guess its progress. Im not sure Ill ever get to a point of a positive image of myself looks-wise, as thats a far bigger (and deeper) issue with plenty of pounds to go before I can even call normal without it being a long-distance call. But at least in one area, Paleo seems to be working as advertised...
