Today I led the Jumah prayer service in the Port of Spain prison - TopicsExpress

Today I led the Jumah prayer service in the Port of Spain prison for approximately 60 Muslim inmates. Afterwards I delivered a lecture downstairs for part of the mainstream prison population. But today was the first time that I went through the centre of the compound both upstairs and on the ground level getting a close up look at inside the jail cells. These are totally horrifying conditions where human beings are being made to live like animals. This is a situation that needs to be address as it is a denial of humanity. The penalty for the crimes committed is to be locked up but not made to live in filthy unsanitary conditions and not be taken to court on time. Fixing this problem will in turn fix a lot of other problems in our society.
