Today I was driving downtown when I saw an elderly man lying on the side of the road. At first I thought he was homeless and was just sleeping on the sidewalk, but being curious I pulled over, got out, and asked him what he was doing.? He said he had fallen and was having trouble getting up. Nobody was helping they were just walking by looking at him.... I went over and helped him up and asked if he was ok. He thanked me and said if there were more people like me in the world it would be a much better place. I feel so accomplished now that I did a good deed for someone. He also said he was a veteran and told me about how he had served in world war 2! Not only did I do a good deed, I learned a valuable lesson about giving back to people that fought for my right to be here. Hopefully next time you guys see someone in distress you help them up. =)
