Today: Sunday evening at the Dob Bar And, so it was --- a new star came to our valley. last Sunday evening the Dog Bar quietly hosted Rodney Branigan for a concert from 6 - 8 p.m. The audience was small and many werent sure quite what to expect. Then, bamb! We were captured and mesmerized by his charm, his voice and his guitar playing! Someone said he is from Amarillo originally, but he currently lives in England. Thats too bad for all of us because it’s a long way to come to play a concert. But we are hoping hell be back. If he is, you dont want to miss him! You can see a clip of him playing at the Dog Bar on our post today. Yes, you are right - if you watch the clip you will see him playing TWO guitars at ONE time. He really does do that - and more! Often Rodney plays for audiences of 2,000 or more in England, France, India and other exotic locations. (Check it out on U-tube by searching for Rodney Branigan.) Last night he played for about 50 folks right here in charming Cuchara, Colorado. It was a very special evening in the Magical Valley! One couple at the concert last night sat quietly and intently at a table near the mics. They seemed especially interested in the performance and also looked around taking in the ambiance of our charming local pub. No one seemed to know who they were, nor why they were here. Well, almost no one. Seems they were guests of Jim and Cynamin Van Lue. Seems they were from Nashville. Seems they were agents for many of the musicians who are playing at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo. It also seems that they loved the Valley and hope to come back! Seems that could really help our Cuchara Country Music Fest. . . Here’s what Jim V.L. has to say about the visit. “Great visit on Sunday to Cuchara by RJ and April Romeo of Romeo Entertainment Group.
