Today, as Chairman of the House Commission responsible for the rules governing the content of official communications, I reminded Members of the U.S. House that they may include incidental holiday greeting, such as “Merry Christmas,” in their communications with constituents. Last year, at my direction, the Commission reversed what stood out to me as an extreme and unwarranted prohibition on the use of holiday greetings.
