Today has not been a particularly good day - on the way back from Peak Hill we passed a cottage where the front door opens out onto the road. As we drove past a little Jack russell darted out of the door and it was impossible for Auntie Kay to stop and the van hit the little mite. The owners took him to the vet and though it seems that he may be ok ,nothing broken ( we have to wait to see if there are any internal injuries) it was an awful shock for everyone especially Auntie Kay. So please - make sure your dogs are safe from being able to run out into the road - its so easy to leave the door open just for a few seconds but thats all the time it takes....
