Today is Tisha BAv, the 9th of Av, a mourning day in memory of two Temple structures. Most Jews want to see the Miqdash standing again--I do. You may know of someone who takes delight in saying it was destroyed by Rome in CE 66 due to some Christian myth. They, as usual, are liars. Every disaster which has ever befallen Israel is explained very easily and in fact was forewarned in the Torah itself. Most cite disunity between Israelites and subsequently Jews. Well, yes, but its even more direct when you consider the sources of disunity. The first source of disunity is disobedience to Gods Torah; the second, and related, is the aping of gentiles instead of living by HaShems commandments. For Jews we are constantly concerned for what our gentile neighbors think. Right now as Israeli soldiers fight Hamas, a modern Haman personified, Israel must be concerned with what gentiles around the world think. It doesnt matter what they think because they either titter on the fence every minute and weigh what they can gain from Jews (their souls) or material gain for being our neighbors. May I remind you that Torah tells us to love our neighbor as ourselves. But can I tell you also that Israel had many wars with its neighbors and was even instructed to destroy many of those enemies. Is that love? There is a problem here. People, even some rabbis tell us that our neighbors is the rest of our fellow humans. Neighbor רֵעַ is better translated comrade, and Ill say that means someone in a reciprocal Torah defined relationship, not just some guy who moves in next door somewhere in the world. Jews have become so sensitive to these neighbors in proximity that we put aside our heritage and are sometimes more conscious of our neighbors who not only are willfully and otherwise uninformed or unconcerned about Jewish life but many Jews are too! Some are apologetic or embarrassed of Yahwism, and it is inconvenient or even set upon those same neighbors in the gentile world. But just because they would rather you abandon or ignore Judaism, the responsibility is still yours--not theirs. (Piss on them) Gentiles are not stopping the rebuilding of the Temple though they try. Jews are hindering it through their own disunity and fear or even ignorance. I know that there are readers who have some issue with others sincerely seeking Torah life, but I want to emphasize that in spite of any such difficulty, we support all sincere Jews and unity. We want to see the end of Tisha BAv.
