Today is of colossal importance for the future of the United Kingdom. Over 300 years on from the Acts of Union, 18th September 2014 could go down in history as the day Scotland severed its ties with the rest of Britain. I sincerely hope that this is not the case. The United Kingdom has been a hugely successful family of nations and has the potential to remain so for years to come. The Yes campaign have lost all of the key arguments and failed to answer so many of the key questions. In the volatile world in which we live today, I have never felt a stronger desire for the security which close allies and greater numbers brings.
