Today is the 14th Anniversary of 911. Cant believe its already fourteen years since that tragic day that would change the United States Of America forever. My first cousin, Monique Rios was scheduled to work that morning. My cousin worked and continues to work for United Airlines as an airline stewardess . She was supposed to work the flight 93 NYC to SFO. She ended up switching shifts with a co-worker. My cousin LOVES New York City and once lived in Manhatten. Her job relocated her to move to San Francisco. Since her boyfriend still lived in manhatten, the opportunity to switching her schedule with a co-worker couldnt have come at a more valuable time. The strain of a long distance relationship started weighing in. So any chance of spending extra time with her boyfriend , would proove to be the most valuable day shed never anticipated and would never be one to forget. But one to remember and reflect on for the rest of her life. It would take my cousin two entire days to let her family know that she was alive! At the same time my cousin was devastated and greiving. The entire crew that she had come to know as her second family, had all perished. I had just given birth to my fourth child Krista, on August. 26, 2001. My cousin Monique had been beside me thru-out my entire labor. In fact I couldnt wait to inform her that she would be my daughters Godmother. When Monique called me from New York, we must have cried the entire ten minutes that we were on the phone. Everybody at one time or another repeat the saying; that everything happens for a reason? Watever the reasoning is, Thank You Sooo Much my heavenly Father. My daughter has her Godmother and I still have my beautiful, loving cousin. At the same time, I have taken this moment to honor the thousands of people that lost their lives that day. To all the families that lost their loved ones, My prayers and deepest thoughts to the families of these victims, are with you all. I pray that one day you will all find the inner peace and closure that sustains you. May your loss one day return to the love and forgiveness of others, as WE ALL, ARE FORGIVEN AND LOVED. THANK YOU. AND NEVER FORGET 911-01
