Todays Status report on the Flash Floods and Landslides in Meghalaya The dead toll in the recent flash floods and landslides has risen to 55 with the recovery of three more dead bodies from West Garo Hills District. There is light rain in some places in the State. NH 61 has been reported to be opened for all types of vehicles. NH 62 opened barring few locations. NH 51, AMPT Road, Tura –Baghmara Road, Shillong-Nongstoin- Williamnagar- Tura Road, Damra- Dainadubi- Mendipathar Road, Paikan-Resubelpara Road are all opened to all types of vehicles. Mahendraganj – Purakhasia road is closed. Power restored in most places except Resubelpara and in few areas in Garo Hills Districts. POL supply has reached Tura. No report of outbreak of epidemics. However, wide publicity is being made for taking adequate preventive measures.
