Todays Tip: THE IDEAL AMOUNT OF WEIGHT TO LIFT To be effective, weight lifting should become difficult as you reach the last few repetitions of each set. According to current guidelines, to build strength, lift a weight that tires your muscles after eight to 12 repetitions. If you can complete 12 reps with no difficulty, increase your weight and make sure that you can lift it at least eight times with proper form.
