Todays devotion from the book Jesus Calling MY PEACE is the treasure of treasures: the pearl of great price. It is an exquisitely costly gift, both for the Giver and the receiver. I purchased this Peace for you with My blood. You receive this gift by trusting Me in the midst of lifes storms. If you have the worlds peace-everything going your way- you dont seek My unfathomable Peace. Thank Me when things do not go your way, because spiritual blessings come wrapped in trials. Adverse circumstances are normal in a fallen world. Expect them each day. Rejoice in the face of hardship, for I have overcome the world. These are the verses that go with it: Matthew 13:46 - When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. James 1:2 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, and John 16:33 - I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. This devotion and these verses tell us that Gods Peace comes at a price. The price we pay is trusting in Jesus at all times, even when it is hardest to do so. We have to live in His Will and trust that He will lead us onward. The cost is not harmful to us, its like a deposit. We give our trust to Jesus and He rewards us with His Peace and Presence. To learn to trust Jesus in all situations takes time, it wont always happen overnight. We will face many trials in this life, and for many of them we need the Peace of God to make it through. These verses offer us a challenge, to Trust Jesus at all times. Every step that we CHOOSE to Trust in Jesus will be rewarded with a measure of His Unfathomable Peace. Take heart and take hold of Jesus. Even if all of Creation were stacked against you, nothing can hold up against the Power and Might of the Everlasting and Almighty God. God is on your side if you follow after Jesus. Grow close to and learn to Trust in Jesus. He will never let you down. God Bless you all!
