Todays treasure: Joy and Sorrow: Take 2. A friend sent this video to me today. Death by cancer is a real reality in his familys life right now. Its a bit intimidating to have a conversation about something that I have no personal experience with, at least not as personal as it if for this woman Liz, or it is for my friend and especially his wife. But it seemed to fit interestingly into my day. My thoughts on joy and sorrow. Lizs story is sorrowful, death is sorrowful, but is her story not also full of joy. The joy of being a sister. A wife. A mom. The joy of living until death. The joy of believing in miracles. The miracle and joy of spending each and ever day with loved ones. The joy of love here and now. The joy of the promise of eternal love. The joy of giving. The joy of suffering. The joy of being loved and cared for until the end. I was gifted some great truth today. Lord, help to hold on to them...and You. What a lonely, uncharitable, and fake world we live in if we think it somehow it is undignified to let people see us suffer, to love and care for us until the end. - Liz My life was never given to me to control it.
