Top News: To the surprise of nobody in the military, bombing ISIS slowed them down, but it’s going to take combat troops to finish them off. So President Obama plans to send 1500 more US troops back into Iraq, but only as “advisers” to help train local forces. He might have trouble with that from fellow Democrats: Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy says Obama doesn’t have that power without Congressional authorization. Too many Democrats remember that the Vietnam War started with us sending a handful of military “advisors.” Personally, I think we need to tell Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria and the other nations there that ISIS is their problem, so clean it up. Enough American blood has been shed for them. If they absolutely can’t do the job, and we perceive ISIS as a serious threat to America, then drop the half-measures and the advance announcements of what we’re not willing to do to win. Unleash Armageddon on them and then get out.
