Tough Game today against Western Springs a team that we have lost - TopicsExpress

Tough Game today against Western Springs a team that we have lost twice too, in a close manner both times.. Jake and I earlier explained that a 10 out of 10 for our play probably only happens 2-3 times in a season and that when it does its like a drug that you hunger for more... Well thats Jake, the little Neymars, the parents and myself tonight over a lemonade/Beer completely satisfied and looking at the season and pondering what can be. We challenged the boys to get a point today, ie not lose..well in the first half all the boys played lovely touches and every boy had goal side in defence and other than a great save from Luke we hit half time at nil nil.... The second half we continued the same with the boys stamping their game on the opposition team, the Neymars played with huge tickers defending for their life, but also passing well and controlling possession (to our one eyed opinions about 70% to us ha). five minutes to go and a well earned, thought through, disciplined draw was on the cards (one point more than wed achieved in the past) that was until William Holland whos disruptive defensive game that had worked all day won the ball and played his Twin brother through a gap, with plenty of work still to do. Whom took a touch and calmly slotted from distance in the bottom corner. Jake, Gareth the parents jumped with joy..1 nil us 5 mins to go, we deserved the win but had to endure a few fouls and steer the side to full time.. Bloody Brilliant win today, so proud of the boys, the difference for these 10/9 year olds? The Thinking and calmness in playing 45 mins at nil, nil... Lukes calm thinking and safe decisions filtered from the back through the team, and with Mr Emblem the All whites coach watching made some great saves and picked up player of the Day. Emblem watched a mighty team in Neymar and will no doubt remember some faces for the future.
