Transfer news: Andre Schurrle never doubted he would get his dream move to Chelsea and says Jose Mourinho told him the deal was done when they met at Michael Ballack’s testimonial last week. The 22-year-old Germany international’s move to Stamford Bridge was officially confirmed on Thursday, putting an end to months of speculation. Schurrle insists the delay never worried him but admits he is grateful to Bayer Leverkusen for making the move possible. “There was a clear agenda - and I was in the loop all the time,” he said in Bild. “Of course, I am totally relieved that Bayer made this step possible for me.” At former Chelsea man Ballack’s testimonial in Germany, Mourinho took charge of a World XI containing Schurrle. “He was my coach that evening,” Schurrle said. “He shook my hand and said: ‘It is done - you are my player.’ “That was an incredible feeling. He has a special personality and is cool.” Schurrle can’t wait to work with Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, having spoken to Real Madrid stars Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira while on international duty with Germany. He said: “They both told me that he is the best coach they have ever worked with. “During the recent US tour [by Germany], we talked about this issue for more than an hour.
