Translations can be very tricky....I remember one Samia translator at the historical Lumino High School inaugural function held in the famous Dec 26 Samia Bugwe Stadium (at Bukwekwe primary school): It is 21-7-1981 and Wilson Okwenje is standing speaking oratorical Shakespearean English which the ill Englished Samia translator can hardly grasp...somebody in the crowd shouts..Ewe nibihuhaire tulayo but this unexpected rude interruption is swallowed up by the our man; our man...our man.... shouts as Masette Kuuya arrives and Wilson Okwenje tells the audience...I beg to digrace a little bit...It becomes obvious that the translator would be stuck...and another Samia in the crowd lets out a meek shout: Ewe bbwana notauna leha otunyasira obweango bwefwe....leha abandu bamanyire olusikoyo lusekesa efumo batukaluhanisiriemo bi mwana Wanabboro yahalooha ebio! (Man...do not waste our time...let the people who at ease with Shakespearean English translate what Nabboros son has let out in his oratory). Now fellow LST abawuuna...how would you translate.....Let me digrace a little bit ?
