Transport union seeks resolution of PDP crisis• NATIONAL president of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigerian (RTEAN), Alhaji Musa Shehu Isiwele, on Wednesday, canvassed for early resolution of the lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the overall interest of the country. Alhaji Isiwele, who spoke in Abuja when he led other members of the union on a solidarity visit to the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, stressed that there was the need to ensure that the ongoing reconciliation process in the party was given all the attentions it deserved. According to him, “in the life of every political party, especially any party in government, events and situations within the political space will always throw up new challenges that may, in some cases, threaten the path of national progress, just as we have witnessed recently. “The good news is that such challenges are mostly desirable to assist the party to develop appropriate political resilience and temperament needed to strengthen the internal capacities of such ruling party to effectively govern,” he added. The RTEAN president urged Alhaji Tukur to disregard all form of distractions coming from within and outside the party, so that the PDP-led Federal Government could deliver the much needed dividends of democracy to the people. Responding, Alhaji Tukur commended the union for identifying with the party and urged its members to assist it in carrying its message of peace, unity and solidarity across the country ahead 2015 election.
