Tropical Storm Ana is on the verge of hurricane status and has her eyes set for the Big Island of Hawaii this weekend. Ana is already showing signs of strengthening and with light upper level winds and warmer waters ahead, she’ll likely become a hurricane Wednesday. The tropical forecast models are fairly consistent with Ana passing very closely- if not making a direct landfall -on the Big Island. If it makes a direct hit, it would be the first hurricane on record to directly hit Hawaii at full intensity. Either way they’re going to be bracing for at least tropical storm conditions for the second time this year. That would also be a first for Hawaii!
