True story only names changed KINOTI IN A LATRINE Mr. Mborogo was the most feared of all the teachers in our school. He was the discipline master and always made it clear that he was punishing the mistakes and not the person. He only smiled when administering punishment to a pupil. He always walked overcarefully behind the classes hoping to get a pupil erring; in many instances he was fortunate. According to him he was not to blame no matter how much he canned a pupil because the numbers of strokes were determined by the magnitude of your offence .We never knew the formula he used to compute the size of the offence and convert it to canes although for certain the two had a relationship. Some minor offences were neutralized by some few canes and as the scale of the offence increased punishment worsened. When he was convinced that your crime was serious enough he ordered that the criminal be stripped of his clothes (many serious criminals were boys) .He could then administer the punishment when the naked victim’s hands and legs were held tightly by a group of strong boys. Some bad boys found themselves being caned inside sacks which were sealed at the top to make sure that they were not aware where the next stroke could hit. All the students avoided corroding with him as much as they could. But no matter how much we try trouble always finds its way in one way or another and this is how Johnson Kinoti found himself in the wrong side of the law with Mr.Mborogo one day and this was his last day in school .Kinoti did not enjoy the least being in class. According to him he claimed that when the teacher was teaching he could here as if it were bees buzzing in his ears. He always heard it from the teachers that education is the key to good life but he did not understand why he had to face this humiliating tribulation of being in school. He always avoided being in class as much as he could and hid in a small bush near the school compound. One day Mr.Mborogo saw Kinoti hiding in the bush near the school. He assembled a group of big boys and they siege the bush. One boy was sent to alert Kinoti as the other boys waited for kinoti from all escape routes. Once Kinoti saw Mr.Mborogo and his boys trying to arrest him his body released a chemical called adrenaline which did not only make kinoti urinate on himself but also made kinoti stronger than Mr.Mborogo and his boys. He demonstrated to Mr.Mborogo who was well built that had he was a bona fide rugby champion who didn’t have a medal only because he had not been in the competition. He hauled Mr.Mborogo and several other strong boys towards the pit latrine. Mr.Mborogo and his boy being aware that the latrine had a floor that gave signals that one day someone would find himself some tens of feet below the surface of the earth they therefore released Kinoti. He got into the latrine and closed the door behind him. Nobody knew what Kinoti did inside the tiny room. Frustrated, Mr.Mborogo and his boys had to go home after waiting outside of the latrine until late in the evening with kinoti safely confined in the latrine. It is nowhere in record when Kinoti finally left the latrine. Some of his friends claimed that he came out in the middle of the night shaking visibly and went home. This was the last day of Kinoti was seen in school.
