Twelve very long and very heavy boxes of solid birch wood flooring - TopicsExpress

Twelve very long and very heavy boxes of solid birch wood flooring were carried up a flight of stairs, up a folding wooden attic ladder, and then laid in a stack on the attic floor where they collected dust for ten years. Finally, a classified ad was placed in the local weekly, advertising the flooring at 30% off list price. The owner expected the flooring to sell to a local who wanted a deal and who was strong enough to help carry the boxes back down stairs. The call the owner received came as a voice message from a messaging company that instructed him to send an email to a potential buyer. The buyer literally lived on the other side of the continental USA. The buyer agreed to the selling price of $700. He said he would have the flooring shipped to him three thousand miles away by truck. That was odd. The buyer sent a check that he said included the cost of shipping and extra money. The owner was told to cash the check and then send the excess amount to a shipper who worked for the buyer. When the bank check arrived it was for $5000 — that was 5 times the original cost of the wood. The owner was told to wire the money via Western Union to the shipper who was currently working in Europe! Intuition told the owner — something’s wrong. Let’s Pray: Dear God, when we feel preyed upon, when our intuition tells us that something’s fishy, help us listen to our guts and trust our hearts. Amen. Here’s a Thought: God gives us intuition. Trust it. Source: Philippians 1:9 “And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight (discernment)...” NIV
