Two Sailors and a Marine. As we all take time today to honor - TopicsExpress

Two Sailors and a Marine. As we all take time today to honor our loved ones and servicemen and women it occurs to me weve all probably had our lives impacted by someone in the military. These are my three. The first sailor was always smiling. Through ups and downs, good times and bad, he always had that sheepish grin. He would help out any friend, at any time, for any reason. He loved all of his family and especially his two little boys. Had I not been fortunate enough to have him in my life Id have missed an important lesson on perseverance even through adversity. The second sailor was always working hard and always squared away. With anything he did in his life he did it in the most right way Ive ever witnessed. Be it on his farm, as a parent, a grandparent, or a husband. He provided the biggest example in my life of how to be a family man and the simple rewards of hard work. The Marine was simply put, the big brother I never had. He was there in my childhood to show me right from wrong and even maybe occasionally slap the back of my head when his words werent working. When he faced his own adversity and should have only be thinking of himself, he reached out to me to make sure I was still headed down the right path. I had not, and still have not personally witnessed a more selfless act in my life. Its serves as a reminder to me everyday to try to put others first. I probably know of no life lesson more valuable. So, as we are out today remembering loved ones and our veterans remember to value those around you now. In my experience those whove served our country can provide some shining examples on, well on life really. May the good Lord bless all of our servicemen and women. May he bless all of our veterans. And for those now serving in his Kingdom, bless you, and thanks for being the stellar angels in heaven.
