Two charged with human trafficking, prostitution in Greenville (Video) Police say a teenagers attempt to use fake money at a Dollar Tree store led to the unraveling of a human trafficking crime. Greenville police say a 14-year-old girl tried to use counterfeit money at the Dollar Tree at 814 S. Memorial Drive Friday. Officers sensed that something wasnt right, according to Kristen Hunter, spokeswoman for the Greenville Police Department. After speaking to the teen, officers found she was a runaway from New York who was staying at a local motel. Police say the teen is a victim of human trafficking. Greenville police searched a room at the Quality Inn across the street from the Dollar Tree where officers questioned the teen. In the motel, police arrested Jalonda Graham of Albany, New York and Maurice Spencer of Leesburg, Florida. Graham and Spencer are both charged with human trafficking with a child victim. Graham is also charged with aid and abet prostitution, and her bond was set at $200,000. Spencer is charged with promoting prostitution. His bond is set at $250,000. Both appeared in court this morning and were given court-appointed attorneys. They are due in court again on December 18. Police also arrested a 20-year-old woman from Washington at the motel. Ashley Thomas is charged with aid and abet prostitution and was jailed under a $5,000 bond. Thomas was also issued a court-appointed attorney at the first appearance. The teenager from New York was taken in by the Office of Juvenile Justice for safekeeping and her parents were notified.
