Deputy Minister for Interior, James Agalga has said security message sent by the US Embassy in Ghana to its citizens in the country is out of place since Ghana’s security agencies are on high alert. Speaking to Citi News he said ‘’the government is assuring Ghanaians and the general public that the security agencies are on high alert, they have taken measures to ensure that after the declaration of the verdict life and property are protected; nothing is going to happen.’’ ‘’Let Ghanaians go about their normal day-to-day business without fear…,’’ he added. He also said the security agencies are not downplaying the possibility of isolated violence over the verdict of the Supreme Court on the 29 August 2013. ‘’As a country nobody can rule out the fact that some miscreants in the system will want to take advantage of the verdict of the Supreme Court and cause mayhem in this country, that is the main reason why the security is on red alert.’’
