UNITE AND INTERSERVE SIGN 2013 PAY DEAL From left Andrew Rawdon, International Projects Director signed the agreement with Christian Duo, Convenor for Unite the Union, at the Naval Base, yesterday. Pic: Eyleen Sheil Unite the Union and Interserve Defence Ltd (IDL) have signed an agreement on the 2013 Pay & Conditions Review following months of negotiations. IDL Staff will receive a 3% consolidated basic salary increment, retrospective to the April 1, 2013 and ex- DEL staff retrospective to the January 1, 2013. An agreement was also reached on “three items included in our aspiration list presented to the Company, namely that all annual leave be calculated in hours and bringing in line with the MoD, the summer hours routine and Christmas closed period,” said a spokesman for the Union. “All employees will have the three days of annual leave discounted at the beginning of the year, returned as a result of this accord.” “We have also reached an agreement, whereby the annual pay reviews for the period 2014 and 2015, will be aligned to HMGOG Public Sector pay increases,” they added. The Union also said that they are positive major issues of pay and conditions will be tackled before the end of the Contract. “A different approach is evident and both sides want to further develop our partnership, for the betterment of our members and also to improve the efficiency and service to the Ministry of Defence,” said Unite.
