UNTIL YOU PERSEVERE I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. Luke 11:8 Jesus used a story of a friend going to ask his friend for help in the middle of the night and though that his friend was tired and sleeping with his children wouldn’t come out to attend to that his friend that needed his help but because that his friend insisted on getting that help from him, that he will rise up and give him that help as many as he needed. Nothing comes to us immediately we ask and desire but they come when we’ve shown persistence and resilience in getting it. Most folks don’t show enough desire and resilience in what they want, that’s why they don’t have it. Some in their pursuit for the desire of their heart, at the slightest dissappointment, they give up the pursuit. You don’t just get things because you asked and desired it, but because you’ve shown enough resilience and perseverance in getting such thing. Jesus told another parable of a widow that got justice from a wicked judge, though the judge had no regard for God and man, yet for her continous coming wearied him into doing it (see Luke 18:1-5). It is perseverance and resilience that wearies circumstances to change to your favor; never give up on what you so want, keep asking for it, keep praying for it, keep desiring it, keep confessing it, keep hoping for it and never give on it then you’ll get it. Christ said ‘…that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. Luke 18:1) men need never to give up on what they so want in their live i.e keep praying for it and not to faint i.e., not to give up on that which they want. The reason you’ve not gotten that which you want is not because you were cursed or in bondage, but because you’ve not shown enough perseverance and resilience in it. If you show enough importunity(harass with persistent request) in that which you want, you’ll get as many as you want. God bless you.
