Un hombre de La Villita que al momento se encuentra en prisión por otro caso acaba de recibir cargos por un homicidio que ocurrió en la 30/Pulaski hace dos años, donde la victima fue baleada dentro de un carro y alcanzó a llegar con sus amigos a la gasolineria de la Ogden pero falleció. A man currently serving a state prison sentence on a gun charge in Chicago, has been charged in the fatal shooting of a man two years ago, police said. Edgar Guevara, 18, of the 3000 block of South Tripp Avenue was charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 19, 2012, slaying of a 22-year-old man in the Little Village neighborhood, according to police Alex Ruiz, of the 2700 block of South Harding Avenue, was shot at Cermak and Pulaski roads and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the medical examiners office. Ruiz was shot about 3:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of South Pulaski Road on the West Side and was driven about a mile north to a gas station just east of Pulaski on Ogden Avenue. He was a passenger in a car when the people with whom he was riding heard gunfire and realized their friend had been shot in the head, police said. Guevara pleaded guilty June 19 to aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in an unrelated case, according to court records. He was sentenced to one year in prison and was housed at the Vienna Correctional Center within the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to records. Guevara was charged Tuesday and is expected to be in bond court Wednesday, police said.
