Unfortunately, I didnt get the response I was hoping - either because there is not enough awareness about rape - 11 cases were reported last year alone and that was when the system was terrible and the victims had to keep coming and going from place to place recounting over and over what happened. Did you know rape is the most second horrific thing that can happen to a person other than murder? Thanks to SART the victims who may be any nationality / background will initially go through a stage of feeling shame, scared, guilty, dirty and powerless. It is with this in mind that I myself agreed to collecting these much needed items so that in a moment of despair when the professionals might need their clothes for forensic evidence and the victims might want to wash and put on clean clothes there will be be a pack of toiletries/clothes for them to make use of. We will never know the victims but what we know for sure is that these provisions are going to go for a worthy cause....please help This is the list of items needed 1. Sanitary items a) Towel b) Shampoo (someone offered to donate so not needed) c) Shower gel ( ) d) Toothbrush e) Toothpaste f) Sanitary Towels 2. Clothing a) Top / t.shirt b) Trousers c) Underwear d) Sports bra or something similar e) Jumper / Cardigan (in winter) Or alternatively you may write out a cheque to Victim Support Malta - thank you
