Unless youve ever tried to raise four kids on $1500-$2000 (and often times less) a month, you shouldnt have a say about what a fair living wage is and what isnt. Keep your opinions and insults to yourself, and show some respect to that teenager handing you your burger or delivering your pizza tonight. He or she just might be a full-time college student with a disabled mother, deceased father and three other siblings at home theyre helping take care of. They might be spending their money on a $450 light bill and new school clothes for their younger sister so she can feel good about herself like the other kids at school. They might have even bought and paid for their own car, insurance and all of their other expenses themselves rather than having it all handed to them like some spoiled, entitled kids who also look down their noses at them, like you. They might have to put up with people calling them stupid to their faces and treating them like dirt because they work behind a counter rather than wherever your out-of-touch-with-the-rest-of-the-world-self thinks they should be working. If people didnt do those jobs you consider menial, whod haul off your trash? Stock the shelves or ring up your groceries? Do your dry cleaning? Mow your grass? Clean out and wash your car? Walk your dog? Cut your hair? Do your nails? Change your kids diaper at daycare? Clean that toilet you use while youre earning the big bucks in your real job? Look around you and see who really makes this world go round and give them the respect theyve earned and deserve. A persons job doesnt define them, but the way you treat them says a lot about you... as an individual and as a nation!
