Until the words under god are taken out, our children wont be standing. If that offends you, GOOD! Even if the words under god were taken out, the pledge is still horribly nationalistic and divisive. If I were to take a pledge, it would have to be something like, I pledge, to the best of my abilities, to use reason, logic, the scientific method, and every tool at my disposal, to help and support the planet and all people, animals, and plants on it, or that will be on it in the future. Or something like that. You cant truly love all of humanity when you exclude others, and that is exactly what religion—and nationalistic pledges—are designed to do. Just dump the pledge.
