************Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge (Savanna, IL) Biological Technician Intern************* In addition to other stations seeking intern applicants, the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge (Savanna, IL) will be filling one of these intern positions in northwest Illinois (~150 miles west of Chicago). Internship Description: Intern will assist with duties which include, but are not limited to: conducting biological surveys of wildlife and habitats, avian nesting and production surveys, and fish surveys; assisting with scientific research, data collection and entry into a database; conducting radio telemetry studies of wildlife; monitoring and assisting with control of invasive and pest plants; habitat management; environmental education/interpretation; facilities maintenance; outreach/coordination of the biological program with partners; and other duties as required. Valid driver’s license is required. Personal vehicle strongly recommended only for the purpose of driving from residence to main office. Once intern reaches main office, government vehicles will be provided for performing daily work related activities.
