Ursula (Szostak) Luker passed away suddenly on 10/03/2013 after a short illness at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Union City. She was born to Emilian Marian Szostak and Zofia (Matusiak) Szostak at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in London, England. She immigrated to the USA in 1951 with her parents when they came across on the Queen Elizabeth I ship through Ellis Island finally settling in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Resurrection Elementary and graduated from Denby High School after which time she joined the Army Women’s Corp in 1967 where she met her first husband Daniel Killingbeck. They wed in 1968 and had two children, John and Michael while living in Detroit. After her divorce she met the love-of-her-life, Jim Luker, and they settled in Troy, Tennessee where they both became active in the local Church while she worked at Goodyear Tire until her retirement in 2011. She is survived by her mother, Zofia Szostak of Detroit MI; her sisters, Eleonora (Larry) Tysiac of Peoria AZ, Ewa (Ronald) Drafta of Novi MI, and Mary (Mark) Sitko of New Boston MI.; her children, John Killingbeck of Union City TN and Michael Luker of Bay City MI; her grandchildren; Kristen Luker and James D Killingbeck; her nieces/nephews, Jimmy (Amanda) Tysiac, CassieMarie(Thomas) Martinez, Stephanie (Edwin) Wangler, Krytyn and Jessica Sitko, and Benjamin and Theresa Drafta; her great-niece/nephew, Jackson Tysiac, Olivia Wangler and Emmett Wangler as well as her step-son Robert Luker of Kentucky and his family. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Fran (Clyde) Killingbeck. She is pre-deceased by her father, Emilian Marian Szostak (1978), her first husband, Daniel Killingbeck (2011), and her 2nd husband, James Luker (2005). Ursula will be remembered as a woman of unbelievable strength who overcame multiple hardships in her life and a woman who lived life to the fullest based on her strong convictions to Church and Christian fellowship. She lived boldly, loved unconditionally and worked hard her entire life. She gave her advice freely and honestly and loved her family with all of her heart. Her faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering. Ursula’s smile, twinkle in her eye, support for those in need, and tender arms that provided refuge for family and friends during time of need will be missed. But Ursula will always live on in our hearts and may her soul find eternal happiness and rest in heaven with Jesus Christ her Savior. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Shawtown Road in Troy, Tennessee.
