Uruj Saeed - 1976 - 2014 The eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, but we will not say except what pleases our Lord. My sister, Uruj Saeed, who was 38 years old, returned to her Lord on Wednesday, 18th June in Dallas, a few days before Ramadan. She was suffering from a liver failure. Her janaza was after Dhuhr the next day. I washed and shrouded her, prepared her to meet her Creator. I prayed that she meet Allah with love, certainty and submission bursting from her heart, saying: Ya Rabb, You called me, so I came. Her janaza prayer was held at Islamic Association of North Texas and led by Sheikh Omar Suleiman. There were over a thousand of people there – her friends, her colleagues, her school friends, extended family. She was loved by an unimaginable number of people. Everyone testified to her good deeds. Alhamdulillah Allah took her in the best way. She always prayed for it, and indeed Allah made her last deeds her best deeds. We prayed on her, and carried her towards Restland cemetery to place her in her final resting place. My heart aches in a way I never knew a heart could ache. I miss her every day of my life. But through all this, I cant say anything except “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon (To Allah we belong and to Him is our return)”, and continue to make dua for her. It was her time to return to Allah, I know that beyond doubt. And although I wish I had more time with her in this world, I wholeheartedly look forward to reuniting with her, Inshallah, in Jannah, where time does not end, where there is no fear of being separated from your loved ones. Ya Allah, grant forgiveness to Uruj. Elevate her among those who are near to You. Forgive us and her, O Lord of the Worlds. Widen her grave and illuminate it for her. Like she always prayed for herself, may it be the most beautiful garden from the gardens of Paradise. O Allah envelop her in your mercy, as she enveloped everyone around her in love. Ya Allah forgive her sins and accept her as a shaheed. Ya Allah make me patient in knowing that it was her appointed time and that, by your will and grace, she is in a very beautiful place. Ya Allah, you reunited Mousas mother with him after she put him in the river. Ya Allah, you reunited Yaqoub with his beloved son Yusuf after many years of painful separation. Ya Allah, you are the only one who can reunite us with our loved ones, so Allah I ask you to reunite us in a place more beautiful than this world. Uruj, you will always be in my heart, and always in my prayers. May we meet once again and may it be as though we spent no time apart ♥
