Listing my favorite 10 Indian movies of all time. 1.Nayagan - For that sublime scene where Velu Naicker comes to the Commissioners house and ends up meeting his daughter. Kamalhassan and Ilayaraja try so much to defeat each other with their brilliance and Tamil Cinema ended up as the ultimate winner. 2. Rang De Basanti - For the feel-good patriotism and a scintillating score by A.R.Rahman. 3.Pudhupettai- For being that rare movie where you love it so much yet hate the protagonist who fills every scene of it. Do not understand why Dhanush and Yuvan Shankar Raja were not given National awards for this. 4.Alaipayuthey - For the lovely way Evano Oruvan is picturised and for the oh-so-lovelier way Shalini asks Madhavan Enna thedi vara yen ivlo naal aachu? at the end of the song. 5.Michael Madhana Kamarajan - For showing us that the biggest comedian to have ever straddled the Kollywood arena is not Nagesh or Vadivelu or Goudamani but the Crazy Mohan inside Kamalhassan. 6.Kadhal - For the authenticity.To capture the ethos of Madurai in the title credits, the director doesnt show banner of a Rajinikanth rasigar mandram but that of a Latha Rajinikanth rasigar mandram. 7.Rockstar - For turning me from an atheist to a believer and yes,A.R.Rahman is God. 8.Mullum Malarum - for showing that a sibling relationship story can work with minimal dialogues and for showing that the superstar is a super actor in the first place. 9.Subramaniyapuram - For being the best debut ever by a director in Tamil Cinema and for that look on Jais face when he knows that his lady love has betrayed him. 10.Thalapathi : For showing that yes,A.R.Rahman may be god but there are other things and people above God. I tag Ganapathy Ram Palanikumar,Nagabhushan Murali,Sabarinathan Sundaram,Babu Abdul Khadeer,Hariharan Parthiban,Sudhamathy Subramanian,Omkar Kesavan, Anirudh Raghav KR Saravan Prabu Periasamy Ajay Krishnan Vinoth Kumar and request them to come up with their lists :)
