VENTING!!!! I am a child of two immigrants who came here with literally nothing but their love and determination to work hard and never be a burden to anyone else. Dad, Christopher Braun, Polish born, raised in France after the Nazis took their home in 1939 came to USA LEGALLY. Mom was born and raised in Korea and experienced horrific Korean war and lost family and her brother was shot and left for dead when captured by the enemy because he was injured in battle. His body was never returned. Mom was oldest child of 5 and remembers rummaging the streets for food for her family to eat. Dad, left Europe at 21 years of age and joined the US Army speaking no English but served 2 tours in Viet Nam where he met my beautiful mom in Korea. They did not speak each others language but fell in love. They had 1 child because they could not afford more children and I see this as really responsible and loving me. I tell you this story because both served this country and never took a penny of welfare even though looking back, they could have. They had welfare then. They never came here and said, You need to take care of me and my kids. Mom was rushed to ER in New Jersey for simply not eating enough and making sure her husband and daughter had enough to eat and she passed out of malnutrition. She worked 3 jobs sewing and was the best mom a kid could have. Most immigrants have these difficult stories. She taught me integrity and love like no other mom. Dad was one of the only men that came back alive in his platoon. He suffered unnecessary guilt the hippy minded persecuted him for just doing what he was asked to do and many do not understand what atrocities my dad and other Viet Nam Vets went through and instead of love they got spat upon when they came home. He cried many a days over this confusion of hate towards him. Well...a glimpse of my wonderful parents hopefully lets you see why I am not a supporter of people coming into this country illegally and feel it is their right we take care of them. All immigrants from past had horrific stories from where they came from from poverty to war. I met a married couple from South Africa that is bright and professional and here legally and working difficult jobs that make very little and they have no car but they are legal and not taken care of by others. So it is possible like my parents to come to this country LEGALLY. Just another perspective on allowing just anyone to come ILLEGALLY is not acceptable when others are coming LEGALLY!!! Bleeding hearts...then take in a family that crosses the border and fill your homes and please be quiet unless you are doing something! Sorry to be blunt but I am sick of hearing your bleeding heart mouth and not seeing your pocketbook and house open as a soup kitchen in AZ and TX. Talk is cheap and yes...I feel sorry for all kids but I do not see you adopting them and fostering them in the hundreds.PEOPLE WE HAVE A PROBLEM IF YOU ALLOW THOUSANDS TO CROSS THE BORDER! IT COST MONEY TO HOUSE, CLOTHE and FEED PEOPLE! How many can your house hold because as it looks you will need a BIG HOUSE to go with that BIG BLEEDING HEART!
