Versi English: Hanipa: another attack on the President and Syura Council of PAS MP Sepang, Hanipa Maidin is still on track to continue what he did recently at the 60th Muktamar PAS in Batu Pahat. Although some of his statements were cynical, the audience in that close door annual meeting could accept Hanipa’s weeping as an internal criticism. However, when MalaysiaKini published Hanipa’s latest article “PAS badly needs to rejuvenate to stay relevant”, it seems Hanipa continues to project his hidden agenda, i.e., tarnishing the image the Presiden and Syura Council again. Referring to his writing, Hanipa tries to push PAS to do some rejuvenation of PAS following the Selangor MB crisis. He continuously blamed PAS for what happened in Pakatan Rakyat while PKR was the one who started the silly game. Hanipa lost his rationality when discussing Selangor MB’s issues. He blindfolded his mind and refused to accept the fact PKR was the one who initiated the Real Chaos in Pakatan Rakyat Selangor. The accusation of “Flip Flop of PAS” is baseless, and simply, a poor analysis by Hanipa. As we had observed in Selangor MB crisis, PAS President and Syura Council made decision and act upon it based on clear principles. When Hanipa accused his own party as flip flop, it made me wonder whether he is a PAS central committee member or just a normal member of PAS. It is very ironic for a Central Committee member to howl outside the party when he himself could have sorted out the any discrepancy within his own party. The Flip Flop accusation was plotted to put a blame on the President and Syura Council. As a member of PAS, that adopt strong principles based on Al Quran and Sunnah, such accusation would not have come from a true and educated PAS member like Hanipa. PAS’ members should always refer to Al Quran and Sunnah to support their opinions whenever they engage in any dispute. In this case, Hanipa did not do so. In fact, Hanipa tried to use every angle from secularist’s view to justify his accusation and opinion. When Hanipa said Rakyat is the BOSS, he forgot how PAS is supposed to act in democracy. There is no secret that PAS, as a political party, needs the supports and votes from People in order to win in the election. However, at the same time, PAS is an Islamic Movement that promotes dakwah on Islamic teachings, charity and safety of the nations, and good governance in the community and in the country. Whenever there are conflicts in the community, PAS must always show its true submission to Allah, not the People. Allah will always open up the door to resolve the conflicts as long as we are sincerely holding the Islamic principles. As Muslim, we must believe that ALLAH will help us when the time is needed to defend the faith of people. My view, Hanipa’s accusation is nothing more than poisoning PAS‘ principles in the long term. We are afraid, in a short time, the culture of criticism that disregards the principles based on Al Quran and Sunnah will lead PAS to suffer more. PAS members should consistently hold to AlQuran and Sunnah whenever there is a dispute or disagreement. Without these principles, PAS will fall into the trap of liberal democracy which currently has a mass effect on ISLAMIC MOVEMENT around the world. Again, I felt that Hanipa is making another attempt to prolong the internal conflict in PAS to rationalize his argument to rejuvenate PAS according to the ideas proposed by Dr Mujahid Yusuf Rawa. The word PAS REJUVENATION was initially highlighted by Dr Mujahid in his book, “PAS Berwajah Baru”, an output that emerged from his Ph.D. thesis. His idea of rejuvenation is an individual one, and not a collective idea from PAS. Hanipa should understand that PAS has always been rejuvenating itself in terms of its thinking, direction, activities, and human resources throughout its struggle in Malaysia for more than 60 years, and insya Allah, it will remain relevant in Malaysia till the end of the world. Perhaps those who find themselves no longer relevant in PAS may have to rejuvenate themselves. That rejuvenation should be based on no other than Islamic principles. There is no such thing as moderate Islam, Islamic Democracy, Islamic Socialist, or Liberal Islam, or Liberal Democrat Islam. Islam is Islam. Islam will always be relevant forever. Ahmad Hakimi Othman
