Vicente Garrido Genovese ( 1958 ) For me one of the best criminologists . is a criminologist and psychologist Spanish . Degree in Criminology in 1980 by the Institute of Criminology at the University Complutense of Madrid, published two outstanding dissertations , one in 1982 entitled Psychology and Treatment of Prisoners : an approach and a Crime and Society , 1984 , with which his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Valencia where he is associate Professor in Psychology and Education Criminal Corrections. He completed his studies with a postgraduate at the University of Ottawa (Canada ) in 1986. It is also a visiting professor from 1991 to the British Psychological Society at the University of Salford (United Kingdom). In Spain was an adviser to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Service of the Department of Justice of Catalonia on several occasions and was part of the Committee that drafted the Regulatory Accountability Act Juvenile Law passed in 2000 . Between 1997 and 1999 served as UN Consultant for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency in Latin America , overseeing programs in Argentina , Chile , Costa Rica and Uruguay . Author of specialized books and reference for experts , as well as many articles in journals of Spain , the UK and the U.S., among which include the Journal of Correctional Education , the Yearbook of Correctional Education , Criminal Behavior Mental Health , Psychology , Crime and Law , being a member of the editorial board of several magazines in Spain and other countries. The Spanish Ministry of Justice in 1999 awarded him the Cross of St. Raymond of Peñafort , for his merits in the development of a more humane and effective justice . Director of numerous studies on many different fields of criminology , psychology of crime and correctional education , the analysis on different areas such as criminal behavior treatment and prevention of juvenile crime and the effectiveness of correctional programs .
