SIDEWALKS’ Veronica Castro and actress/singer Melanie Marshall Mini-Biography: British-born stage actress Melanie Marshall is a classically-trained singer who was trained at Royal College of Music (Foundation Scholarship for Singing and Piano). She was nominated for a 2012 Helen Hayes Award for Best Lead Actress in a Non Residential Production for her role in FELA! Some of her theatre work includes FELA! (National Theatre); Hot Mikado (Watermill Theatre); Simply Heavenly (YoungVic and Trafalgar Studios); The Fat Lady Sings; Elsa Canasta and L’Eveil with the Rambert Dance Company; Carmen Jones, Porgy and Bess, Fame, Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Kiss Me Kate (all West End).
