Visited the exceptionally wonderful city of Leeds today I was there a couple of months ago and vowed to return to enjoy this vibrant and exciting city centre and my first stop was to have lunch at the Caribbean Café in the brilliant market place. I had promised my self to get back to Leeds and get some of this nosh down my gullet! The Caribbean Café looks a bit naff from the outside and you would walk past it less the tempting aromas wafting from its door, you walk in and there is a definite buzz about the little place that is owned and cheffed by Dean who greets you like a long lost friend and is more than delighted to explain his wares next thing Im sitting with a perfectly presented plate of goat curry, tomato salsa and rice and peas. There is a small selection of food on offer all cooked fresh on the premises with all of the Caribbean favourites such as Fried Fish, all Delicious Caribbean flavours from jerk pork to fish stew. Great day walking around the beautiful arcades each more interesting than the other followed by a wet shave and hair cut at the magnificent “The Traditional Shaving Company” in the Grand Arcade, Leeds. The Grand Arcade is located between Vicar Lane and New Briggate and is just next to the Grand Theatre. If you have never visited Leeds the do, it is a great city with oodles of bargains and great things to see and do.
