Volunteer Service Opportunity - US Army Reserve 389th Combat Support Services Battalion is honoring their civilian volunteers and hosting a family fun day on Sunday Sept 15. Many of you have volunteered your time and talent in the past, and know how appreciated our recognition of the service our Reservists have provided on our behalf over the last 12 years is. This year, the briefing and awards ceremony starts at 9, with the family fun day starting at 1. I will be there from 8:45 until 10 (when I have a commitment to teach sunday school in Huntington) and then be back around 12:30 to provide coverage for the family fun day. In the past, we have set up portrait stations in rooms, under tents and on the field, as well as did some amazing pj work with candid portraits. We have shared all of the images as free downloads from my smugmug sites in photogapher specific galleries, and make prints available at smugmug costs. These events get over 60,000 views. to date, I have no accounting for the number of downloads but $12 in prints had been ordered. The 389th has honored us in the past and shares all of the volunteers names and businesses within their community. I would be honored if any of you can assist me in honoring these service people and their families by sharing your time and talent, in any way, either on the day or perhaps by doing some creative edits in the weeks following the event.
