WATCH ENGLISH MOVIES –2 Dear friends, If you want to improve your fluency in English, you must listen and understand what the other person is saying. There are so many benefits by watching English movies. What are those benefits? 1.You can understand how they pronounce each and every word. 2.You can understand how they construct sentences to express their feelings. 3.You can revise your grammar. Because each dialogue is an example of a grammatical concept. 4.You can remember and imitate some of the dialogues in your real life. 5.You can accustom to the accent of native speakers. 6.You can improve your English, without stress and burden. Because English movies are interesting and you love them. How to watch: 1.Have head/ear phones. Because your family members should not be disturbed by you. 2.As far as you can bear, increase the volume. 3.Select a movie in which you are interested. You like comedy movies, select the movies of Jackie Chan, will smith, Jim Carrey etc. If you like action select the movies of Arnold schwarge negger, tom cruise, etc. 4.If the movie has the facility of sub titles, that would be better. 5.Watch the movie concentrated, without looking the sub titles. 6.After watching a scene, repeat the same scene again and again and listen again and again. 7.Later close your eyes and listen to the same scene again and again. Then your concentration to listen will be increased. 8.Later open your eyes, watch the same scene, listen to the dialogues, and read the sub titles. Then you can understand clearly. 9.If you don’t understand some dialogues, leave that scene and go to the next scene. Friends this is the process of improving your listening skill by watching English movies. If you are not interested in English movies. Then watch English channels in TV such as discovery channel, national geographic channel, history channel, animal planet, etc. Let me warn you. You may not be excellent at grammar and vocabulary of English. But you should have at least some grammar and vocabulary. Then only you can understand English movies. This is the primary requirement from you. Otherwise you may watch them only for entertainment. There is a lot of difference in the accent of American English and British English. But if you can understand American English, you can understand British English very easily. Hollywood movies comes under American movies. But the movies of Jackie Chan, Bruce lee, Jet lee etc are from Hong Kong. They are dubbed into British English. If you watch an English movie 100 times and you don’t understand any dialogue, don’t worry. After some time you can understand everything. Learn grammar and vocabulary daily. That is enough for now.
