WE ARE AFRAID…. AND OF WHAT? I presented a question last night about what gives you anxiety? Many of the answers blew me away. They range from wondering what someone thinks of us to not being able to make a mortgage payment. While many of these are natural reactions and warranted, the anxiety itself needs to stop. This feeling, the feeling of acceptance or the inability to complete a task leaves us in a whirlpool of insecurity, and for what? What do we accomplish by this? What does fearing what somebody at the gym thinks of us? Or what the boss at work thinks of us? What is really happening is you’re creating this fear in your own head and applying it to your everyday stress, which just ignites the fire out of control. A suggestion is to practice when you aren’t in that mode and prepare yourself for when you are. Think logically, strip the layers away and peek at what is truly causing you anxiety. Then once you realize what it is attack it. Refuse to be overcome by it, refuse to let it control you, refuse to let anything but your logical side take over. You won’t die from this, you wont make the situation any worse, and you wont disappoint yourself. You WILL without question become stronger. Eventually you will start to realize that none of the above truly matters as you set your energy and focus on the right things, your happiness.
