WEEK 30 SUNDAY 27/ 07//2014 – 02/08//2014 Heaven is my Home Philippians 3:17-21, Revelation 4, 21. 1 Corinthians 2:9 Heaven is my home is a truism that many believers find hard to appreciate. That is why we need to take stock of what we do on our journey back home. We need to invest in the things that matter and de-emphasizing the things that dont matter. If you think it is natural for you to feel upset, disappointed and even shocked about the injustices of this world. However, if you know that there is a time when God will set all things right, then it will be dawned on you that you are in transit as the destination is Heaven. Have you ever asked yourself the following four questions: What does God want me to do in any situation that I may find myself? How will such behaviour of mine affect my home coming? If indeed I am in transit, will this action of mine be pleasing to God when I return home? How and where will I spend eternity? When you appreciate the above-listed questions and answer them sincerely, then, will you begin to have a real understanding and may be start to review your priorities, actions, reactions, decisions, and relationships. The purpose of God unique personal plan for you will be made clearer to you. You will then begin to walk in His purpose for your life: A life that will bless fellow human being and bring glory to God. You will not feel miserable whenever you remember your home, but be readily prepared and happy to go back home knowing what awaits you there: Everlasting Peace and Joy in worshiping your heavenly father. – (Pro. 4:18. 1 Corinthians 1:17, Psalm 73:25.) The Bible tells us that our citizenship is not of this world but of heaven. We are in the world but not of the world. We are ambassadors for Christ. Therefore, we bear the responsibility of representation. We represent Christ here on earth. We shall give account of our representation when we go back to heaven; our home country. I pray that the Lord God Almighty will teach us how to number our days so that we can gain a heart of wisdom. “. ... So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. (Romans 12:5). God bless you.
