WHAT STARTS HERE CHANGES THE WORLD Today marks exactly a week - TopicsExpress

WHAT STARTS HERE CHANGES THE WORLD Today marks exactly a week we all poured out to decide the future of our Students Union. I first tender my sincere apology for been so silent in the last few days. It is part of me to observe the situation on ground well, WIN or LOSE, the HOPE for our Union is never dead and can never die. My greatest appreciation goes to God Almighty who in HIS infinite mercy has been sustaining me with the energy to move through all challenges. OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA is immature, OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA is violent driven, OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA is too young, OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA is this, OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA is that, yet over 2400 students not just believed but also came out to cast their VOTES for the HOPE14 Vision. How could this have been possible without God Almighty HIMSELF? I greatly appreciate everyone who contributed to the HOPE14 Campaign. It isnt about supporting me, it is about the energy you put in as you HOPE for a better unionism. We havent won the election, yet we havent also lost! If the will of God is for us not to get there so be it! The result of the July 12 elections announced Mr Odesola Oluwafemi Victor the winner. I thereby use this medium to say I am happy you have been announced the winner. Just like the FINALS of a football match, someone has to win in an election. But as we HOPE for the REDEMPTION of our dear union, all must be done on a fair playing ground. If truly we are the intellectuals we ought to be, if truly WHAT STARTS HERE MUST CHANGE THE WORLD, then our elections starting from the University of Ibadan must be free and fair if we want to replicate the same here in Nigeria Though some propagandists have twisted the definition of the word FIGHT in my campaign, but just like I have been doing over time, I OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA OLAOLU has always been a fighter for WHAT IS RIGHT. It would be most disappointing if at this point, I CANNOT EVEN FIGHT FOR MY OWN RIGHT after promising in my campaign that I WILL FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTS OF FELLOW STUDENTS Politics is never a do or die affair, we are never desperate to get there but all the same we shall never be FEEBLE to fight for a just cause. It is only the non-intellectual minds that would condemn challenging the outcome of an election when you notice there has been some irregularities. The intellectualism in us has made us not go by the way of undue protest, we have made our displeasure known to the appropriate quarters. I must confess that the OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA campaign train is aware of the way and manner issues like this may have been treated in the past. I should also state here that as young as OLAWUNI MUSTAPHA may appear to be, this is never my first time of handling cases like this. If the election has been won in fairness, there is no need for anyone to panic! The legal minds among us will understand that taking someone to court does not auto make the person guilty, the court is there to make clarifications on what we are confused about. We can never separate RELIGION from POLITICS! But regardless of who is involved we can always make sure we have credibility in our elections and abide by the rules and conducts guiding the process. If the aim of coming to The Premier University of Ibadan is to make us WORTHY IN CHARACTER AND LEARNING, then we must ensure we start being worthy in character even during electioneering process by making sure the rules and regulation are not breached. If the MOTTO of The Premier University of Ibadan translates to ensuring SOUND JUDGEMENT, then as the intellectuals from the Ivory Towers, we shouldn’t be afraid to uphold what the MOTTO of our school preaches! I am of the belief Mr Odesola Oluwafemi himself wont want to emerge on a basis of controversy. He is a gentleman who I believe will always be willing to uphold justice whether or not it affects him. As his Campaign Slogan is tagged REDEMPTION AGENDA, I am very sure Mr Victor will be willing to REDEEM the Union even right from the period of electioneering process. Im not saying Mr Odesola Oluwafemi hasnt won the election in fairness but if on the part of my campaign train, there are some malpractices we observed characterized the election, then the Mr Odesola just like I have heard about him is someone who will be willing to see the matter checked properly as WHAT STARTS HERE MUST CHANGE THE WORLD. Challenging a victory is never a crime, even the election that brought the late Yar Adua in was not duly challenged before the great man confessed himself of the process being full of malpractices But as a Leader of the People, you are the ones we want to serve, you are the ones who took the pain to come and cast your vote.2458 students voted Olawuni Mustapa,If we get a majority of these people to say we should let go of it, then we shall withdraw unconditionally! But before then, we will continue to apply all strenuous efforts in ensuring we combat this cause. Aluta Continua Victoria Ascerta
