WHO I AM... To All new fb members This is an account of who and why I am!!!.. I want to tell you a bit about myself. I have been connected with beads for a long time. I inherited many beads from an aunt. These got shoved into boxes and not looked at for ages. About three years ago I began having hip operations that didnt work (still haven’t) and to save myself from going mad I got people to drag out some of the boxes and I began to design necklaces. A local gallery (Hanasho) has been taking my work and it has been selling well. I am still very immobile and I get a great sense of pleasure in making necklaces and an even greater pleasure when people like them. When I set up a FB page I had no idea that it would take off to the extent it has. I have considered eBay as a place to sell my beads but now I prefer FB because I like the contact with people and the sharing of enthusiasm. By using FB I can also skip the eBay fees and sell at lower prices. I found this out yesterday when I was using eBay prices as a guideline for pricing my own Mimco necklaces. I realise that the matter of trust arises through not using eBay but I think people using FB have as much power as do eBay buyers. If you order something from me, for example, and you dont receive it you can give me bad marks on FB, the same as you can on eBay. I am happy to tell you that - unlike most other fb pages that sell stuff - my page is not a shop. 99.9% of my items are one of a kind and you are unlikely to see anything you buy from me on other people or in their houses.
